Born in Cuba and arriving in the US in 2004, Miguel Delgado wasn’t just chasing the American dream; he was building it. Fueled by a deep passion for education and helping others, Miguel saw the legal field as the perfect bridge between these two passions. It wasn’t just about knowledge; it was about wielding that knowledge to empower his community.

The 2008 financial crisis became a turning point. Witnessing friends and family lose their livelihoods ignited a fire in Miguel. He wouldn’t stand by and watch his community suffer. Law school became his weapon, and he tackled it head-on, juggling full-time studies with his job. From business administration at community college to UNLV’s prestigious Boyd School of Law, Miguel’s journey was paved with relentless dedication.

His immigrant identity and unwavering belief in justice propelled him forward. He served as President of the Nevada Justice Association, championed the voice of Latino students as Vice President of La Voz, and even volunteered in a human rights project with the Culinary Union. Graduating with pro bono honors wasn’t just a mark of academic excellence; it was a testament to his commitment to using his legal skills for good.

This journey, however, wasn’t just about books and lectures. Miguel honed his skills through internships with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. After graduation, he embarked on a clerkship with the Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers, where the intricacies of the Nevada Workers’ Compensation System became his second language. It was there that Miguel discovered his true calling: using his legal expertise to fight for and improve the lives of injured workers in Nevada.

Miguel’s journey didn’t stop there. He joined a local powerhouse in 2018, tasked with building their workers’ compensation practice. He did more than just build it; he made it thrive, securing over $3 million in settlements for his clients. But the dream of building something truly his own never faded. In 2021, Delgado Injury Law was born. It wasn’t just another firm; it was the culmination of Miguel’s passion, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to making a difference.

When he’s not fighting for the rights of injured workers, you can find Miguel exploring the world with his wife and two daughters, a constant reminder of the community he so fiercely serves.1
